Digital photography and image manipulation provide tremendous benefits to the document creation process.

Digital cameras streamline the image capture process, letting me immediately view photos and reshoot until they are perfect, then import the digital files into a computer for immediate use. I also use flatbed and film scanners to convert existing images into digital files.

Retouching and enhancement in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom can correct almost any problem in a photograph — poor color, distracting background, unwanted elements, excessively dark or light areas, etc. I can also add elements, convert color images to black and white, apply special effects... you name it!
